The Kids' Cookery School
Saturday 29th May

Book Fair
Wednesday 5th May
Book Fair IPS will be holding a book fair on Tuesday and Wednesday (this week). The children will be given the opportunity to visit the fair with their classes during the school day. So, please send your child to school with approximately £5.00 to £10.00.

On Wednesday there will also be an opportunity for parents to visit the book fair with their children, after school from 3:15 pm to 4:00pm.

What if it Rains? Assembly
Friday 23rd April
This popular play deals with walking to school from a scientific angle, looking at the health and environmental benefits gained from cutting car journeys, and is an ideal way to reinforce or introduce the topic of health and care of the environment.

National Cake Sale Day
Friday 26th March

Schools and other organisations across the country will be running cake sales to raise money for Haiti. If you could please donate cakes, biscuits and snacks generously by Friday morning. The cake sale will be held after school. Jazak'Allah khair.

Evening Celebrating the Prophet of Mercy (saw)
Friday 19th March

There will be performances by the two nasheed groups Shaam and Al-Noor. As well as the Islamia School Choir and a children’s performance. Tickets are £1 per adult and 50p per child. Please note no children under 4 yrs will be permitted to attend the performance.
Time: 6:30-9:00pm

World Maths Day 2010
3rd March 2010

Islamia is participating in World Maths Day which is on Wednesday 3rd March. See the poster here.
Please visit the World Maths Day website at www.worldmathsday.com.
All of the children will be given a login and password by their class teacher. The World Maths Day challenge involves students from all over the world playing against each other in real-time battles of mental arithmetic using the newly updated Live Mathletics game engine. So, what are you witing for? Get online and start practising!!

Skipping Day
24th February 2010
We have invited skip-hop Ltd to run a day of skipping workshops. Selected classes will take part in one of the workshops taking place throughout the day in which they will learn a selection of moves, including individual moves, double-dutch, long rope, and partner skipping. Snow Closures

School was closed on 6th and 7th January due to the snowy weather and hazardous travelling conditions. We reopened on the 8th January 10.

Monday 4th December school is closed for Staff inset so please do not bring your children in.

School is closed on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd December due to snow.
If school is closed due to extenuating circumstances we will let parents know by text, Insha'Allah.
If you did not receive a text regarding the recent snow closures then it probably means that we do not have your current mobile number. If your number has changed recently please could you inform the office so we can update the texting service.
