MISSION STATMENT: To strive to provide the best education, in a secure Islamic environment, through the knowledge and application of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
P.E.
(Physical Education)

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, told a companion who used to fast all day and stay up all night:
“Do not do that. Fast and break your fast, sleep and get up. For your body has a right over you, your eyes have a right over you, your wife has a right over you, and your visitors have a right over you.”

Health and Fitness Week

Sports Week poster

This week we are celebrating Health and Fitness week at Islamia in order to raise the profile of sport within our school. All of the classes will be participating in a range of different sporting activities in addition to their normal P.E. lesson. Some of these activities are Yoga, archery, multiskills workshop, mini olympics and an outdoor adventure. Years 4-6 will be going to Queens Park to participate in the fun.
Multiskills A full time table can be seen below.

KS1 will take part in a Virtual Olympic where they will compete in 3 events: Olympic Beanbag Throw, Olympic Standing Long Jump and Olympic Hoop Sprint. Then the results from IPS will be entered onto a website to see how well we've done compared to other schools.

In addition to our physical health we will be looking at our nutritional health. So, all of the classes will be undertaking a healthy cooking activity during the week: Smoothies, milkshakes, bread, fruit salad, galore!

Statements from the Children

We (as a class, 6B) enjoyed to go to the park to do multiskills with Mr. Nick. The 5 activities were challenging and exciting. I think my team's overall perfermance was sensational. I have to thank Mr Nick for all the support and would like to say thank you for a wonderful opportunity and would hope to do it again!

My class 6B, went to the park. We did multiskills with Mr Nick. We did 5 activities. I found picking up a bucket with a arope hard. I found screwing nuts onto a metal pipe easy. The ending part was the most fun when we had been divided into teams. We had to find all the numbers in trees and list them down correctly. I think the day was amazingly enjoyable and I hope we are able to do it again.

My Archery Lesson

My class Year 4B went to do Archery. It was fun! The man's name was Mr Collin. At first I was nervous, but then he introduced us to the equipment, and he told us what to do so I felt okay. Also he told us some safety rules. One of them was don't shoot arrows when someone is behind you.

Soon later it was my turn. I couldn't wait! I done exactly what he told us to do. All of us had 3 arrows. I didn't get the boozle, but some people in my class done it.

Next, when we all had to go Mr Collin blew the whistle so we can get our arrows from the thing you shoot. When it was nealt over and everyone was sitting and I was the only one up. By accident I shot the arrow wrong and it nearly fell. So the man shouted “THRAST” everyone froze except from T. Amanda! The man said who is in danger? Everyone shouted T. AMANDA!
And that was that. I really enjoyed that. I wish I can do it again.
